Creating A Welcoming Guest Bedroom
If you’re having overnight guests this holiday season, chances are you’ve probably thought about how to make their stay comfortable for everyone. Whether they are staying in a dedicated guest bedroom or you’re carving out an area somewhere else in your home, these are some helpful tips to make the most out of their stay.
Layers of Cozy
Quality bedding is a must for a good night’s sleep. Make sure to provide them with the basics (sheets, a duvet, and some pillows), but don’t forget to add some extra blankets and pillows. Everyone has a different preferred sleeping environment, and providing your guests with options ensures that they will be comfortable. For the holiday season, try adding a festive throw to bring seasonal cheer to their room!
Freshen Things Up
Adding a plant or arrangement to a nightstand instantly livens up a space! Whether the plant lives there year round or if you bring in something special just for your guests, it’s a thoughtful touch to add to their stay. For the holiday season, we love adding a fresh wreath; it doesn’t get more welcoming than that!
Storage Solutions
Having space to clear out a drawer for your guest can be tricky with our housing market, but we want to make sure your guests have storage during their stay. Providing a few baskets for them to keep their items in keeps the room fresh and welcoming, instead of cluttered or messy. Having hooks also gives your client a place to hang some items, such as clothing, jackets, or even their bath towel. If your guest is staying for an extended period, make sure to add a basket they can use for laundry that needs to be washed!
Provide The Basics
Having the basics already in your guest's room before their arrival takes out the guesswork for them and is such a welcoming gesture! Some things that they’ll need are towels, toiletries, and don’t forget the wifi password. Another thing to note would be giving access to outlets for them to charge any electronics.
Don’t Forget the little things
Sometimes the littlest of details can change someone’s whole experience. There are so many thoughtful extras that can be added to their room; try to think about what you’d like when visiting someone’s home. Some ideas could be reading material (who doesn’t love a personal book recommendation?), a carafe of water on their nightstand, and a seasonally scented candle with matches. These small gestures will make your guests feel right at home.
It’s so important to be able to just enjoy spending time with loved ones over the holidays and not have to stress over hosting them. Hopefully, these tips will help take out some of the worry and allow everyone to have a comfortable stay!
Happy Holidays!
