Specialty Wall Treatments
We LOVE putting feature walls into homes! It’s a great way to bring unique style and texture to a space. A wall that was once plain suddenly sets the tone for a room and catches everyone’s eye! With applied mouldings such as wainscoting and board and batten coming back into style, we thought we’d talk about some of the wonderful options to help spruce up your space.
moulding designs
Moulding designs are so much fun to work with! It’s amazing what a little creativity, MDF and paint can accomplish. They can also be quite cost effective depending on the design you choose. You can make it pop by painting it a different colour or leave it subtle by painting it the same colour as the surrounding walls. You can choose to do an entire wall, or just a part of the wall. The world is your oyster!
wallcoverings
I’m sure we’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: we are so happy wallcoverings are back! They’re a great way to go, as there are ENDLESS patterns, colours or even textures to choose from. Perhaps in a few years when they are considered dated again, we will be cursing ourselves as we try to rip it off without damaging our drywall, but for now we are all for it!
wood
Wood feature walls bring so much warmth and character to a space. Just order a few extra square feet of your flooring install it vertically rather than on the floor It’s unique and will make the space feel bigger and (definitely) bolder.
custom murals
Hand painted murals are one of a kind originals! We especially love them in kids’ rooms and just so happen to have a talented artist right here in our studio! Carla has done many murals over the years and our clients are always blown away by them. Wall decals have come a long way! There are so many options out there that you’re sure to find one you love to bring the right style and colour to your space. They’re easy to apply and can really make a statement! The best thing about them is if you change your mind, you can remove them!
