Project Recap: Touches of Gold

We have been completing Foxridge show homes for years now, and we love every minute of it! As with (literally) everything else, Covid put its little twist on the housing marking and completing show homes became a distant memory. So you can only imagine the buzz in the office when we got our first project with Foxridge in years. This week we are showing off our first completed show home in years!

We envisioned this home to be modern, sophisticated and elevated, with a colour palette of neutrals, black, and touches of deep burnt orange. The original concept for the home? Modern Victorian. Think traditional elements like wall mouldings but with a thinner, modern profile. As with life, sometimes the road takes us down a different path and we started to incorporate more contemporary features and touches of gold to create this stunning home.

If we had to pick a favourite room, it would be the flex space. This multipurpose room became a place of relaxation, socialising and the less fun activity of working. A custom built-in desk was the perfect addition to achieve all the potential we could envision. With a mix of gold hardware and the most stunning shade of black (which we have linked here, you're welcome) it became the focal point of the space. The gallery wall above served as a perfect space to "hide" the frame tv - remember the "relaxation" we mentioned earlier. With a minimal bar cart and a cosy chair, this space became the multipurpose dream we had.

The grand primary suite was ideal to create a luxurious escape from the everyday. An office favourite, the "swoopy" lamp (the official FID name for it) was just the thing to achieve a space for ending your days in or simply taking a break from the mundane, or children/spouses/in-laws... you get the point. A walk-in closet and elevated ensuite completed the primary suite.

The other bedrooms on the upper floor became kids' rooms, one a boy and one a girl. Our girl's room became the space we could flex our colour imaginations; as much as we love a good neutral palette getting to play with vibrant colours is a rarity we love to tackle. Our boy's room was inspired by fun gold star wall decals, naturally, an outer space theme evolved from there. Designer pro tip - wall decals! A cost effective, removable, fun alternative to spice up a space.

The best part about this home is that we can invite you all to see it! Take a peek through this home in Foxridge's Westbrook community located in Langley.

Happy Thursday!
